elevator-pitchWhat is your business about? You need to be able to convey exactly what your business service or product is in around 10 to 30 seconds. That’s not an easy exercise, but it is, to my mind, probably the most important piece of the jigsaw. When you meet people at networking events and they ask what you do, a quick snappy answer will produce the best results. Any mumbling and bumbling lets you down. If you are unable to put into words exactly what you do, then how do you expect to convey the right meaning to someone who may have never some across a similar business or service? Even if you’re talking to someone who doesn’t have a need for what you do, they may know someone else who does. Make your ideas worth spreading by making them easy to understand.

It can be fun coming up with an elevator pitch, but once you’ve completed it, you will have the basis for communicating your idea in simple and memorable terms. Get it down on paper. You need to live and breathe your product or service.
